Yachad Alumni

Since 2002 the nab Yachad Scholarship Fund has sent 28 talented Australians to Israel as Yachad Scholars and also awarded 1 special Scholarship to afford a young, aspiring Israeli swimmer the opportunity to train with Australian Olympians at the University of Sydney. In recognition of the extraordinary breadth and depth of expertise, talent and experience represented by the ever growing ranks of nab Yachad Scholars and Fellows, a Yachad Alumni organization was established in 2007. In establishing an alumni organization, the Fund acknowledges that both it and the Scholars have a pivotal role to play in sharing networks and Scholarship findings as well as supporting ongoing endeavours in Scholars respective fields. In addition, a Yachad Alumni organization is uniquely placed to disseminate to the Fund, Scholars and, by extension, the wider Australian community the latest news from the Israeli institutions, organizations and individuals with whom Scholars have engaged as part of their programs.

The Yachad Alumni will seek to fulfill the following aims and objectives

  1. Promote and support the Fund in Australia
  2. Support and encourage past Scholars and Fellows
  3. Support and encourage high quality applicants to the Fund
  4. Disseminate information regarding recent activities of Fellows and Scholars and also the individuals, institutions and organizations in Israel that have been involved in the various Scholar programs
  5. Support the objectives of the Fund including to:
    • Expand awareness in Australia of the shared interests of Israel and Australia
    • Assist in making a lasting and meaningful contribution to the strong relationship between these two countries and to a more tolerant and understanding future
    • Offer scholarships in areas of mutual benefit to Israel and Australia, such as education, agri-business, environment, technology, health and business
    • Encourage Indigenous applicants
    • Assisting in advancing the practical skills and competencies of Scholars and Fellows thereby maximizing their ability to effect long-term benefits for their communities nab Yachad Scholarship Fund, Past and Present Yachad Scholars and Fellows
